Lysimachia ciliata is a fantastic herbaceous perennial mostly due to the deep dark shades of the leaves. They’re really striking in colour especially against the paler greens of most other border plants. Topped with small yellow flowers, popping out from the upper leaf axils giving the plant it’s name ‘Firecracker’.
This is another that we keep in our garden and one that we cherish due to the colour of the leaves. With the dry weather we’ve had in 2018 though I’ve noticed that it needs a little more drink than things around it and put it in just a little shade from the scorching sun.
